The Bronze Age: Rodin & the Methods of a MasterMask of Iris - Flladi

September 12 – November 27, 2013

Please note the OSilas Gallery will close at 3pm on November 27th.

To launch our 8th Season, OSilas Gallery is proud to announce that the exhibition for Fall 2013 will be – The Bronze Age: Rodin & the Methods of a Master. Focusing on the lost-wax bronze casting method, this exhibition will feature Auguste Rodin portrait sculpture on loan from the Iris & B. Gerald Cantor Foundation. We are also privileged to have on loan from The Metropolitan Museum of Art a series of ten models depicting the casting of Rodin’s Sorrow sculpture. To add a contemporary perspective, artist Amy Unfried, a former Bronxville resident, will feature an exhibition of recent bronze work in our Window Gallery.

To highlight this exhibition the Bronxville Chamber of Commerce has organized a community-wide celebration and has enlisted 43 Bronxville businesses–including restaurants, shops, services, and organizations–to participate in the festivities. This project includes a raffle that offers a number of prizes which will be drawn at Rodin’s Birthday Party on November 12th. To enter the raffle you can pick up a card at OSilas Gallery, one of the participating stores, or click here to download a Rodin in Bronxville raffle card.
